Kali discovered guard at a young age through the coercion of a childhood friend, under circumstances she considers to be very lucky. She marched with Fairfield High School (IN) from 2005 to 2010. Afterward she taught at her alma mater from 2010 to 2014 as a tech, choreographer, and later as director. Since then, she has taught, choreographed, and designed for multiple schools including Penn High School (IN), Jenison High School (MI), and Rockford High School (MI). After a brief hiatus from marching, Kali returned to the floor to march with Interplay Winterguard from 2014 to 2017, serving as co-captain her last two years, and has since choreographed for her “home team.” In 2020, she graduated from Ball State with a BA in Dance Studies and a BA in Theater Design and Technology. Kali is so excited to be part of the MFA Summer Symposium faculty and can’t wait to share her love of guard with students!
