Jeff Harper

Jeff Harper (Kennesaw, GA) is an active international adjudicator, clinician, guest conductor, and music educator based in Kennesaw, Georgia. He currently serves as the Associate Director of Bands at Lassiter High School in Marietta, Georgia, where he is in his 29th year of teaching in Cobb County School District. 

Nationally and internationally, Harper has adjudicated and presented clinics for premier pageantry and instrumental music organizations across the globe, including Drum Corps Japan, the Japan Marching Band Association, and the Malaysia International Band Clinic. In the United States, he serves as the Education Coordinator for the Winds Division of Winter Guard International and regularly adjudicates for Drum Corps International, Bands of America, and Winter Guard International. Within the state of Georgia, he serves the profession as the District Band Chair for GMEA District 12. 

As a conductor and clinician, Harper frequently conducts regional and university honor bands and has served as a guest conductor for the Georgia Brass Band. His primary conducting teachers include Dr. John Culvahouse, Dr. Dwight Satterwhite, and Mr. James Keene. 

Harper’s background in the marching arts includes performing as a member of The Cadets of Bergen County and later serving on the instructional staff for the 1998 DCI World Champion The Cadets. He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in music education, an Education Specialist degree in curriculum and instruction, and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Education in curriculum and instruction. He is an alumnus of the University of Georgia, where he served as drum major of the Redcoat Marching Band. 

 Outside of his teaching and adjudicating schedule, Harper enjoys traveling and all things Disney with his husband, David Roth, and their son, Jacob.
