Scott McCormick served as the President and CEO of Bands of America for 23 years before successfully leading his organization through a merger with the Music for All Foundation in 2006. He now sits as the CEO of Music for All, with 2010 marking 25 years of leadership of the organization. As son of Bands of America founder Larry McCormick, a 2003 BOA Hall of Fame inductee, Scott has truly been with Bands of America since its beginnings in 1975.
In addition to leading Music for All and serving on its Board of Directors, Mr. McCormick serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the Youth Band for the United Nations. He is a member of the IUPUI Department of Music and Arts Technology, Music Industry Advisory Board and Marian University Arts Initiative Board of Visitors. He has traveled the world representing U.S. scholastic music at special events in Japan and throughout Europe. Mr. McCormick serves as a member of the national Quincy Jones Musiq Consortium. He also is a member of the Indianapolis Consortium of Arts Administrators and has previously served on the coordinating committee of the Illinois Coalition for Music Education, on the Northshore Concert Band Advisory Council and the President’s Council of the International Festivals and Events Association. He is a member of the American Bandmasters Association, Percussive Arts Society and Kappa Kappa Psi.
