Chuck Stephen
Chuck Stephen (Denver, CO) recently retired after a distinguished 30-year career in music education. He most recently served for a decade as the Director of Bands and Fine Arts Department Chair at Monarch High School within the Boulder Valley School District. Throughout his career, his ensembles consistently performed at the highest level, earning four prestigious selections to perform at the Colorado Music Educators Association conference. Notably, his marching bands were 20-time state championship finalists, achieving eight top-three placements.
Beyond the classroom, Stephen has been deeply involved in the pageantry arts for over 40 years. His experience includes performing as a member of the Blue Knights in 1991 and 1992, as well as teaching and arranging marching percussion for the University of Northern Colorado Marching Band and various Colorado high schools. A highly respected figure in the field, he has remained active as a clinician and adjudicator at the national and local levels for over 30 years.
Stephen holds a Bachelor of Music Education from the University of Northern Colorado (1995) and a Master of Arts from the University of Colorado Denver (2004). Professional affiliations include the National Association for Music Education, the Colorado Bandmasters Association, and Phi Beta Mu.
