Nate Seamons
Dr. Nate Seamons (Highland, UT) serves as the Associate Director of Bands at Brigham Young University, where he conducts the BYU Symphonic Band and teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in conducting and music education. He served previously as Director of Bands at Snow College and taught in public schools in Utah and Texas, including American Fork High School and the L.D. Bell High School cluster. He holds degrees from Brigham Young University, the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and the University of Utah.
Seamons is an active conductor, clinician, and adjudicator whose experience spans concert band, marching band, and chamber ensembles. He has been invited to conduct all-state bands, honor bands, and festival ensembles throughout the United States and is a frequent adjudicator for concert and marching festivals. His research and presentations have been featured at The Midwest Clinic, the College Band Directors National Association National Conference, and the World Association for Symphonic Bands and Ensembles Conference in Gwangju-Gyeonggi, South Korea.
A lifelong advocate for music education and artistic excellence, Seamons currently serves as Western Division Chair of the National Band Association and has been involved with the Utah Bandmasters Association since its founding in 2012. He remains active as a marching band designer and consultant. His experience as a teacher, conductor, and performer informs an adjudication philosophy centered on educational value, musical excellence, and constructive feedback that helps ensembles and directors continue to grow. He and his wife, Mary Jane, are proud parents of four amazing children.
