Patrick Mainieri is the Chief Operating Officer for the Bloomington-Normal YMCA in Bloomington, IL. Prior to his work in non-profit leadership, Mr. Mainieri held roles as a high school assistant principal, district director of student activities and was a band director for 12 years while serving as fine arts coordinator in two school districts. Mr. Mainieri is an adjudicator, consults and facilitates leadership development workshops for band programs, serves as a guest conductor for honor bands, and regularly presents at music education conferences while continuing his teaching through his private trumpet studio. Mr. Mainieri is the Event Coordinator for the Illinois State Marching Band Championships, hosted at Illinois State University. He is also active with Music for All through service on their Advocacy in Action committee, assisting with honor ensemble student participants, with camper operations at Summer Symposium, and with operations of many fall Bands of America events. In 2013, Mr. Mainieri was selected as the Outstanding Young Music Educator of the Year by the South Carolina Music Educator Association. Mr. Mainieri holds both his Bachelor of Music in Music Education and Master of Arts in School Leadership from Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina and is a past collegiate member of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia. Mr. Mainieri resides in Bloomington and is married to his high school sweetheart, Tracy, who he met in band. Together they have daughter who loves anything to do with music. As a family, they enjoy traveling.
