
José Alejandro Peña (Palm Desert, CA) was born and raised in Palm Desert, California. He graduated from Palm Desert High School, where he started color guard in his junior year. After high school, Peña marched Fantasia Winter Guard from 2011 to 2015 and 2017. He also marched with Riverside City College and Imbue Winterguard in 2016. Peña started his Drum Corps experience in 2012 at the Blue Devils A Corps and aged out in 2014 with the Blue Devils. He also participated in Blue Devils International Corps in 2015. He was also co-caption head for the Crossmen in 2021 and 2022.
Peña has choreographed at Arcadia High School, Shadow Hills High School, Rancho Cucamonga High School, Ayala High School, Fantasia Winter Guard, Palm Desert High School, Palm Desert Charter Middle School, and many other programs in Southern California. He taught for three years at The Academy and is now on staff at Riverside City College, Fantasia Winter Guard, and the Blue Devils, in addition to serving as the caption head at Palm Desert Charter Middle School and as a co-caption head at Palm Desert High School. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and just recently obtained his master’s degree in teaching.
