Jeremy Tate
Jeremy Tate (Jackson, TN) is a native of Humboldt, Tennessee, and currently serves as Music Advisor and Consultant for the middle and high school band programs in the Gibson County Special School District. Prior to this role, he served for 15 years as Director of Bands at Gibson County High School in Dyer, Tennessee.
During his tenure at Gibson County, the band consistently earned superior ratings in marching and concert performance. The Marching Pioneers were named Tennessee Marching Band State Champions in 2011, 2014, 2017, and 2018, and Tennessee Music Awards’ Marching Band of the Year in 2018. Under Tate’s direction, the band performed at the Statue of Liberty, Walt Disney World, and the New York City St. Patrick’s Day Parade. Most notably, Tate served as lead director of the Gibson County Mass Band in the Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, California.
Tate attended the Humboldt City School System before continuing his education at the University of Memphis and Bethel College. He was named Gibson County School District’s High School Teacher of the Year in 2012 and Gibson County High School’s Teacher of the Year in 2014.
In addition to public education, Tate has served as a clinician and consultant for numerous high schools, colleges, and drum corps throughout the Midwest and Southeast. His experience includes serving as Associate Director of Bands at Bethel College, Visual Caption Head for Memphis Sound Drum and Bugle Corps, and visual staff member with Southwind and the Madison Scouts.
Tate currently works nationwide as a clinician and adjudicator for Drum Corps International, Winter Guard International, Bands of America, and various regional marching arts circuits.
He resides in Jackson, Tennessee, with his wife, Erika, and daughters, Katherine and Cassidy.
