Jeremy Tate

Jeremy Tate (Jackson, TN) is a native of Humboldt, Tennessee, and currently serves as Music Advisor and Consultant for the middle and high school band programs in the Gibson County Special School District. He previously served for 15 years as Director of Bands at Gibson County High School in Dyer, Tennessee. 

 During his tenure, the band consistently earned superior ratings in marching and concert performance. The Marching Pioneers were named Tennessee State Marching Band Champions in 2011, 2014, 2017, and 2018, and earned the Tennessee Music Awards Marching Band of the Year title in 2018. Under his direction, the ensemble performed at venues including the Statue of Liberty, Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom, and New York City’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade. He also served as lead director for the Gibson County Mass Band in the Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, California. 

Tate attended Humboldt City Schools and earned degrees from the University of Memphis and Bethel College. He was recognized as Gibson County School District High School Teacher of the Year in 2012 and Gibson County High School Teacher of the Year in 2014. 

In addition to his public school career, he has worked with high schools, colleges, and drum corps across the Midwest and Southeast. His experience includes serving as Associate Director of Bands at Bethel College, Visual Caption Head for Memphis Sound Drum and Bugle Corps, and visual staff with Southwind and the Madison Scouts. 

He currently works as a clinician and adjudicator nationwide for Drum Corps International, Winter Guard International, Bands of America, and various regional circuits. 

Tate lives in Jackson, Tennessee, with his wife, Erika, and their daughters, Katherine and Cassidy.
