Jackie Gilley

Jackie Gilley (Midwest City, OK) is a native of Stratford, Texas, and was the band director at Monroney Junior High School in Midwest City, Oklahoma, for 29 years. She also taught color guard at Midwest City High School for 18 years. Gilley received her BA in Ceramics and her MMEd from Southwestern Oklahoma State University. She is certified in Secondary Education Administration, as well. 

Gilley was a National Certified Teacher in 2002, and she was the Monroney Teacher of the Year in 1992 and 2003. In 2012, Gilley was inducted into the Oklahoma Bandmasters Hall of Fame. In 2014, she was inducted into the Oklahoma Music Educators Hall of Fame. She is a past president of the Beta Chapter of Phi Beta Mu International Bandmasters Fraternity and also a member of OMEA, OBA, NAfME, and WBDI. Gilley has been an adjudicator for Winter Guard International, Drum Corps International, and Bands of America. 

Gilley currently serves as a board member of the Stratford Education Foundation in her hometown of Stratford, Texas. She is also certified as an Oklahoma Master Gardener, works with the Epperly Heights Elementary junior garden club, and serves as a tutor for the Whiz Kids reading program at Midwest City Elementary.
