Evan Hinds

Evan Hinds (O’Fallon, IL) serves as a program coordinator, percussion arranger, and drill designer for several bands and percussion ensembles across the country. He serves as a music program consultant and adjudicator throughout the United States for marching bands, concert bands, and chamber ensembles. Currently, Hinds is in his 16th year as a staff member at O’Fallon Township High School. He served eight of those years as the caption head for the Marching Panthers Percussion and the director of four concert percussion ensembles. He also serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor for Illinois State University, observing student teachers for the Music Department. Hinds has previously instructed at McKendree University in Lebanon, Illinois, serving as the Marching Bearcats Drumline instructor, arranger, and drill writer. Additionally, at McKendree, he taught private percussion lessons, percussion ensemble, percussion methods, marching band methods, and supervised student teachers for the music education program. In addition, he has held teaching positions at Triad High School in Troy, Illinois, and Southwestern Illinois College in Belleville, Illinois. Hinds holds a Bachelor of Music Education and a master’s in instrumental conducting from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. 

Hinds resides in O’Fallon, IL, with his wife, Dr. Melissa Gustafson-Hinds, the Director of Bands at O’Fallon Township High School, and their daughter, Evelyn.
