Daniel Galloway (Houston, Texas) has taught for 31 years in Texas public schools. He is currently the Director of Bands at Jordan High School in Katy, Texas. Galloway previously taught at Clements High School for 18 years and before that at Mayde Creek Junior High for five years. He also taught in Galena Park ISD and Aldine ISD. He earned a Bachelor of Music degree from Stephen F. Austin State University, studying with Dr. Kevin Sedatole.
Jordan High School opened in 2020 as a brand new High School in Katy ISD. Despite the challenges of opening during the pandemic, the band earned 3rd place at the 2020 UIL Area E 5A Finals; placed students in Region, Area, and State; and earned a sweepstakes in year one. The band has gone on to earn finalist appearances in 2021 at the Friendswood Marching Festival and Lonestar Preview. The band also received fourth place at the highly competitive Area E 5A UIL Marching Contest. In 2022, in the Jordan Marching Band’s first appearance at a Bands of America (BOA) Regional Championship, the band earned 10th place in prelims and 12th place in finals at the BOA North Houston Regional Championship. The band then earned second place in 6A at the Katy Invitational and a Finalist position in the UIL 6A Area Marching Contest, moving up into the top class in Texas. The Symphonic Band was also a National Wind Band Honors Commended Winner in 2021 and National 5A Winner in 2022. In 2023, the Jordan Marching Band advanced to the Area I 6A Finals, earning sixth place and second place at The Katy Marching Contest in finals.
Galloway has been a brass instructor for the Blue Devils Drum and Bugle Corps since 2022.
