Craig Edgar is a former band director with 10 years of experience in the classroom. Having taught 4th-12th grade band and Pre-K3 through 8th-grade general music, Craig has developed vertically integrated curricula to take students from their first notes to their college auditions. His ensembles performed at the San Francisco Festival of Gold, the National Memorial Day Parade and Concert series, and individually in the Honors Performance Series at Carnegie Hall. His educational philosophy is to create holistic musicians, not simply technicians – students who compose, improvise, and think critically about their progress and role in an ensemble. After moving back to the Midwest to support his parents, Craig now leads the institutional sales team at Sweetwater, serving schools and universities and delivering clinics nationally.

He will be presenting at the 2024 Midwest Clinic, and has been featured in Sweetwater’s “How to Buy a Bass You’ll Love” YouTube Series as well as teaching the bass guitar course in “Sweetwater University.” In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Kristina and son, Leo, building bass guitars, and smoking Texas-style BBQ at home.
