Brian Blocker (Highland, Indiana) has been a music educator in Indiana for nineteen years. Blocker earned his B.M.E. from Butler University’s Jordan College of the Arts. While at Butler, Blocker studied with Professor Jon Crabiel and was a Kappa Kappa Psi National Band Fraternity Alpha Beta Chapter officer.  

Blocker is the Director of Bands for the Town of Highland in Northwest Indiana. Blocker is an active Indiana Bandmasters Association and Indiana Music Educators Association member. He is a founding member of the Southshore Brass Band and performs with Windiana Concert Band when available. Blocker and his wife, Jelena, have four kids under ten years old and look forward to a hopeful future in music-making!  

Blocker has served as Jazz Band of America Honor Ensemble Assistant since 2013 and was the Honor Band Assistant for two previous National Festivals. Blocker joined the Field Operations team for Bands of America this past fall.
