Bob Chreste (Spring, TX) is a retired high school band director from Texas. He remains active as an arranger, consultant, and adjudicator. With 16 years of experience teaching in prominent Texas high school band programs, he led his students to win the UIL Texas State Championship, multiple Bands of America class championships, and numerous other marching contests during his tenure.
He has spent over 20 years involved in the drum corps activity. After marching for three years with the Cadets of Bergen County, he spent most of his teaching career on the brass staff for the Bluecoats and Carolina Crown. Chreste is one of only a few instructors in DCI history to have been both a brass caption head and a visual caption head at a finalist corps, with the Santa Clara Vanguard and The Cadets, respectively. He was also a conductor and performer for the Tony and Emmy award-winning musical, Blast!
Chreste is very passionate about music education and the marching arts, and has presented clinics at The Midwest Clinic, Bands of America Summer Camp, Texas Bandmasters Association, and various other conferences. He adjudicates for BOA, WGI, UIL, and several other local, regional, and state-level circuits. Chreste holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree from the University of Houston and a Master of Music degree in conducting from Sam Houston State University.
