Andrew Carr (West Chester, Ohio) is the Director of Bands at Lakota West High School. He oversees the entire band program, which consists of five concert bands, four curricular jazz bands, marching band, winter guard, percussion ensemble, and the pit orchestra. Under his leadership, the Lakota West Symphonic Winds have earned consistent Superior ratings from the Ohio Music Education Association (OMEA) and have been selected to perform at the OMEA Professional Development Convention three times. The Lakota West Marching Band is a frequent finalist at Bands of America (BOA) events and has been a BOA Super Regional Finalist, Grand National Championships Semi-Finalist, and a three-time Regional Champion. Under his direction, the marching band performed in the 2015 Rose Parade. Prior to Lakota West, Carr served as Associate Director of Bands at Kettering Fairmont High School and Director of Bands at New Richmond High School. Carr holds Bachelor of Music degrees from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, and was a Drum Corps International World Champion with the 2000 Cavaliers. He is active as an adjudicator for OMEA and BOA, has served on the staff of the BOA Honor Band in the Rose Parade®, and is the current president of OMEA District XIII. Carr now resides in West Chester with his wife Alyssa and their two sons Chandler and Maddox.
