Amanda Klingenberg

Amanda Klingenberg (Carmel, IN) is in her twelfth year of teaching and serves as a Director of Bands at Clay Middle School in Carmel, Indiana. Klingenberg also serves on staff with the nationally recognized Carmel High School Marching Greyhounds. She has extensive experience working with middle and high school ensembles and private student musicians through her work in Mason, Ohio (2023–2025), Central Texas (2010–2023), and Northwest Georgia (2008–2010).

While in the Leander Independent School District in Texas, Klingenberg helped establish the Danielson Middle School band program and also served as a director at Canyon Ridge Middle School. During her tenure, the Canyon Ridge band program received the prestigious Sudler Cup from the John Philip Sousa Foundation in 2017, performed at The Midwest Clinic in 2014, and presented at the Texas Bandmasters Association Convention. Her ensembles have consistently earned superior ratings and sweepstakes awards at UIL Concert and Sight-Reading Evaluations.

Klingenberg specializes in woodwind and brass pedagogy, beginning instrumental instruction, and the development of strong individual and ensemble fundamentals. She has served as a guest clinician, adjudicator, and presenter for professional development sessions focused on effective strategies for teaching young musicians.

In addition to her teaching, Klingenberg maintained a competitive private saxophone studio of more than 80 students. She was a founding member and board member of the Austin Saxophone Ensemble, which performed at The Midwest Clinic in 2015, and founded the Austin Saxophone Ensemble–Youth.

A native of Georgia, Klingenberg earned a Master of Music in Saxophone Performance from the University of Texas at Austin and a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education from Jacksonville State University. She resides in Carmel, Indiana, with her husband, Brian, and their sons, Hatcher and Ellison.
