Taylor Lovato-Cruz (San Antonio, TX) Taylor Lovato-Cruz is the Assistant Band Director at Bulverde Middle School where she conducts the Symphonic Band, teaches the beginning brass classes, and assists with the Honors Band. Prior to coming to Comal ISD, she was the Assistant Band Director at Jackson Middle School in NEISD in San Antonio.

Ms. Lovato-Cruz is a San Antonio native where she attended Claudia Taylor Johnson High School. In 2023, Ms. Lovato-Cruz went on to graduate summa cum laude from Texas State University with a bachelor’s degree in Music Education. While at Texas State, she studied horn with Dr. Caroline Steiger and performed as principal horn with the Texas State Wind Symphony, under the direction of Dr. Caroline Beatty, and Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Dr. Jacob Harrison. Ms. Lovato-Cruz was also a member of the Bobcat Marching Band as section leader and drum major. Prior to graduating, she received the award for Outstanding Senior in Instrumental Music Education.

Ms. Lovato-Cruz’s professional affiliations include the Texas Music Educators Association, Texas Bandmasters Association, and the International Horn Society. In her free time, she enjoys watching new TV shows and movies, attending concerts, and spending time with her family, friends, and cat, Hermes.
