Patrick Mainieri (Bloomington, IL) Patrick Mainieri is the Chief Operating Officer for the Bloomington-Normal YMCA in Bloomington, Illinois. Prior to his work in non-profit executive leadership, Patrick held roles as a high school assistant principal, district director of student activities, and was a band director for 15 years while serving as fine arts coordinator in two school districts.
Patrick is an adjudicator, consults and facilitates leadership development workshops for band programs, serves as a guest conductor for honor bands, and regularly presents at music education conferences while continuing his teaching through his private trumpet studio. Patrick is the Event Coordinator for the Illinois State Marching Band Championships, hosted at Illinois State University. He is active with Music for All and Bands of America through service on the Advocacy in Action committee, assisting with honor ensemble student participants, supporting camp operations at BOA Summer Camp, and through varying roles at many fall Bands of America events. Patrick is a school board member for his local school district, serves on the Board of Directors for the Red Cross of Central Illinois, and is a member of the Executive Board of his Rotary Club.
In 2013, Patrick was selected as the Outstanding Young Music Educator of the Year by the South Carolina Music Educator Association. Patrick holds both his Bachelor of Music in Music Education and Master of Arts in School Leadership from Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina and is a past collegiate member of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia.
