Dr. Timothy Sexton (Tarpon Springs, FL) serves as the Associate Director of Bands at Tarpon Springs Leadership Conservatory for the Arts and is an advocate for positive and energetic music education. A recent recipient of the 2023 Yamaha “40 Under 40” Excellence in Music Education award, Sexton is in high demand as a clinician and presents annually at district, state, and national conferences across the United States.

During his summer experiences, Sexton tours as a lead brass instructor with the BluecoatsDrum & Bugle Corps and as a brass consultant with Spirit of Atlanta. As a professional performer, Sexton has traveled internationally as a cast member, swing performer, and soloist with BLAST! Brass Theater. He toured with this Tony and Emmy award-winning ensemble throughout all prefectures of Japan in 2014.

Originally from Hokes Bluff, Alabama, Sexton received his Bachelor of Arts in Music Education from Jacksonville State University and a Master of Music in Music Performance from Boise State University. Prior to being hired at Tarpon Springs Leadership Conservatory for the Arts, Sexton completed his D.M.A. in Instrumental Conducting and Music Education from The University of Utah. Sexton lives in Clearwater, Florida with his wife, Dr. Amy J. Bovin, and their two cats, Sunny and Rosy.
