Evan Rogovin

Evan Rogovin (West Palm Beach, FL) is in his 17th year as Director of Bands at the Alexander W. Dreyfoos School of the Arts in downtown West Palm Beach, Florida. Under his leadership, the DSOA bands and ensembles have earned numerous accolades. In March 2025, the DSOA Wind Ensemble was a featured ensemble at the Music for All National Concert Band Festival. In December 2022, the ensemble performed at the 76th Midwest Clinic in Chicago, Illinois.
In 2015, the Wind Ensemble was invited to perform at the Florida Music Educators Association (FMEA) President’s Concert, opening the FMEA All-State Clinic and Conference. In spring 2016, the Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, and percussion ensembles performed at the Music for All National Festival in Indianapolis. In February 2018, the Wind Ensemble was selected as a featured ensemble for the College Band Directors National Association Southern Division Conference in Tampa, Florida. In 2003, he was honored with the William T. Dwyer Award for Excellence in Senior High Education, presented by the Economic Council of Palm Beach County and the Education Foundation of Palm Beach County. In 2019, he received the Randolph A. Frank Prize for the Performing Arts from the Palm Beach Symphony. In 2023, he was awarded his third Citation of Excellence from the National Band Association in recognition of his contributions to concert band performance. Most recently, in 2024, he was inducted into the prestigious American Bandmasters Association.
Before his tenure at Dreyfoos, Rogovin served as Director of Bands at Santaluces Community High School for sixteen years. Under his direction, the Santaluces Marching Chiefs won three FMBC Class 4A State Championships and were State runners-up three times. The Santaluces Winter Color Guard were crowned the 2003 WGI Scholastic A World Champions and earned multiple SFWGA Circuit Championships and WGI Finalist placements.
