Camilla M. Stasa has been involved with Music for All – in many roles –since its earliest days.

As a member of the Chesaning Union High School Band from Chesaning, Michigan, she performed in the first “Marching Bands of America” summer national championship in Whitewater, Wisconsin, in 1976. She was drum major when she marched again in Summer Nationals in 1979. She served as a Bands of America summer camp color guard clinician and fall championship adjudicator in the 1980s.

Ms. Stasa joined the Bands of America staff in 1989, initially as the Director of Operations, working with camp clinicians and fall judges, stadiums and camp facilities, in addition to participating bands.

As Director of Participant Relations, her tenure at MFA accompanied a period of growth that saw the debut of the National Concert Band Festival in 1992, expansion of its summer camp to encompass all areas of instrumental music, tripling the number of fall marching band championships and expansion of the Grand National Championships to its current format. She accompanied the Honor Band of America on their international tour to Europe, and was with the BOA Honor Band in the Rose Parade in 2005 and 2009.

Ms. Stasa was an essential member of the Music for All staff until her departure in 2010 after 21 years of service. She is currently serving as Associate Director of Admissions for VanderCook College of Music in Chicago. Today, many of the music educators she still works with she first met when they were students participating in Music for All programs.

Cam Stasa is a beloved part of Music for All’s history. Her legacy lives on in the relationships she helped forge with the hundreds of participating band directors, music educators and students over her two decades with Music for All and Bands of America.
