Steve Bentley (Salt Lake City, UT) holds dual master’s degrees in Piano Collaboration and Orchestral Conducting. Supported by a bachelor’s degree in piano and trumpet performance, Bentley’s expressive sightreading skills have made him a favorite piano collaborator with members of the Utah Symphony and the University of Utah School of Music faculty. Currently, he is working on a series of educational videos with principal players of the Utah Symphony, focusing on undergraduate-level repertoire through discussion and performance.

For thirty-five years, Bentley has worked with non-profit youth organizations that produce the world’s finest Drum and Bugle Corps. The Blue Devils, Santa Clara Vanguard, The Cadets, and currently the Boston Crusaders have all benefited from his expert knowledge of brass playing. He has been on the winning brass staff of six Drum Corps International World Champions and eight winners of Jim Ott Excellence in Brass awards–most recently in 2025 with Boston Crusaders. He currently serves as a Bands of America adjudicator. In 2002, he was the Assistant Music Director of the Salt Lake City Winter Olympic Band, which performed at the opening and closing ceremonies of the Olympic Games.

Bentley lives in Salt Lake City with his beautiful wife, Jennifer, son, Jackson, and new daughter-in-law, Myken.
