Ryan Lee (Sacramento, California) is an active marching arts instructor, visual designer, consultant, and clinician, having worked with more than 35 competitive ensembles in California, Colorado, and Hawaii. Through these experiences, he has been fortunate to work with, and learn from, some of the brightest minds in the activity. As an adjudicator, Lee has served as a chief judge, lead visual caption judge, and on multiple circuit, regional, and state championship event panels across the country. He has had many ties with the Sacramento Mandarins organization as an alumnus, visual instructor for the finalist drum corps, and indoor winds drill designer/choreographer. He was also the former program director for the Mandarins Music Academy, which serves instrumental music classes to over 1,000 students at more than 40 elementary schools in Northern California. Lee was on staff for the marching programs at California State University, Sacramento, and was a regular guest lecturer for the marching band methods course. He was a past guest on the Marching Roundtable Podcast, was featured in Halftime Magazine, and is a member of the Winter Leadership Team for the Northern California Band Association. Lee holds an associate’s, a bachelor’s, and a master’s degree in business administration and a minor in music. He currently works in the Enforcement Division for the State of California Department of Consumer Affairs.
