Michael Huestis (The Colony, TX) has been involved in music education since 1991 and is currently serving on the Percussive Arts Society Board of Directors, as the Coordinator of the Music for All Sandy Feldstein National Percussion Festival, and as the administrator for the Percussion Solutions for Band Directors social media platforms. Throughout his career, Huestis’s bands, percussion ensembles, and drumlines have performed at the Percussive Arts Society International Convention, Music for All National Percussion Festival, NAfME Biennial Conference, Bands of America Grand National Championship Finals, President Bush’s inaugural parade, the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, and the Drum Corps International World Championships.

A highly sought-after composer, arranger, and clinician, Huestis has worked as the percussion arranger for the Crossmen Drum & Bugle Corps from San Antonio, Texas; Pacific Crest Drum & Bugle Corps from Diamond Bar, California; Genesis Drum and Bugle Corps from Austin, Texas; and the Raiders Drum & Bugle Corps from Burlington, New Jersey. His compositions are published by Tapspace Publications, C-Alan Publications, Rowloff Productions, JKS Music, and Key Poulan Publications. Huestis is also the author of the Developing the Percussionist-Musician series of method books.

Huestis has presented clinics and master classes at numerous state music education association conventions and universities. His professional affiliations include Texas Music Educators Association, National Association for Music Education, Jazz Educators Network, and the Percussive Arts Society, for which he has served as a chapter president of both Utah and Texas. Huestis is an endorser of Yamaha Instruments.
