Since 2018, Micah Ewing has been music supervisor at Sycamore Community Schools in Cincinnati, Ohio where he oversees all aspects of the music program k-12. Prior to his appointment in Sycamore, Ewing began his career as a band director and music department chair at the Cincinnati School for Creative and Performing Arts, then served as band director and music department chair in the Mason City School District at William Mason High School and Mason Intermediate School. While a director in Mason, the Mason Band program received the Sudler Shield, Sudler Flag, performed twice at The Midwest Clinic, three times at the Music for All National Festival, three times at the Ohio Music Education Association Conference, Carnegie Hall, Chicago Symphony Center, the Tournament of Roses Parade, and Bands of America Grand National Finals. In addition to his work in the public schools, Ewing is in demand as a guest conductor, clinician, adjudicator, consultant, and arranger for marching and concert ensembles. Ewing received his bachelor’s degrees in music education and music performance from Miami University (OH), master’s degree in wind conducting from Northwestern University, and doctoral degree in music education from Boston University.
