JulieAnn Martin Bernard holds a Masters Degree in Music Education from the University of Dayton. In the fall of 2011 JulieAnn joined the music faculty of UD as an adjunct professor of Upper String Pedagogy. As a young musician JulieAnn won a full scholarship to attend Brevard Music Festival. She is also an alumna of the prestigious Interlochen Summer Arts Camp where she enjoyed 3 summers as a 1st violinist under the baton of Dr. Larry Livingston.

JulieAnn has over 24 years experience as an orchestra director. As a conductor she has taken 31 ensembles to the Ohio Music Education Association’s annual State Orchestra Adjudicated Event. JulieAnn has been a guest conductor for OMEA District XIII and XIV’s Honors Orchestras as well as a guest lecturer at Wright State University and University of Dayton. Most recently she designed a Mini-Camp for Stebbens High School and is regularly sought after to run sectionals/give critique for Dayton area orchestra programs. She has also run string sectionals for the Dayton Youth Philharmonic Orchestra and the University of Dayton Orchestra.

JulieAnn has had a varied career as a violinist, violist, cellist and vocalist. Through her classical training and connections, she has performed throughout Europe. While at Brevard, she performed in backup orchestras for such renown artists as Andy Williams, Marilyn Horne, and The King’s Singers. JulieAnn also enjoyed performing in a small ensemble backing Ricky Skaggs for a stop in Ohio as part of his Christmas tour. Throughout the years JulieAnn has performed as a string specialist in various bands in such genres as: Celtic, Jazz, Rock, Prog Rock, & Folk Acoustic.

Currently, JulieAnn is the 1st Violinist for the Classics Quartet at Fairhaven Church and enjoys performing recitals, weddings, and special events throughout the tri-state area as a member of VIVA LA STRINGS.
