Joshua Potter (Charlotte, NC) Joshua K. Potter currently resides in the Charlotte, North Carolina area, where he currently works as an Educational Sales Representative. He holds a Bachelor of Music Education from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Master of Music in Wind Band Conducting from East Carolina University.
Mr. Potter taught in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg and Wake County School districts for over 25 years. During his career, his marching bands earned finalist honors and class championships at multiple Bands of America Regional Championship events. His concert ensembles were invited to perform for the North Carolina Music Educators Conference on three occasions as well as the Music for All Affiliate Southeast Regional Concert Festival. He has given multiple presentations at the North Carolina and South Carolina Music Educators Association Conferences on topics ranging from chamber music in the band class to demystifying general effect.
He is a show designer, consultant, and program coordinator for marching band programs in multiple states. Mr. Potter has adjudicated state championships events in various states for both marching band and winter guard. He is an adjudicator for Winter Guard International. Additionally, he serves as the Education Coordinator for the Atlantic Indoor Association.
Mr. Potter is married to Caren, an elementary school counselor. They have an amazing daughter, Carrington, who loves to dance.
