Chris Church (Willard, Missouri) Chris Church is in his sixth year at Missouri State University, where he serves as a drill writer, marching instructor, teaches low brass methods, marching band drill writing, and pedagogy courses. He is a 44-year veteran band director, serving as the Director of Bands and Fine Arts Department Chairman in Willard, Missouri, as well as teaching in Springdale, Arkansas. His marching bands consistently placed at or near the top in all festivals attended, and he has also worked as a drill designer for numerous bands throughout the Midwest. Chris has over 28 years of experience working within Drum Corps International. He spent 14 seasons with the World Champion Phantom Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps from Rockford, Illinois, where he served on the Marching/Visual Staff and as Visual Caption Head and drill writer. He is currently serving as a Visual Judge for Drum Corps International, Bands of America, and has judged in four indoor winter guard circuits in Oklahoma, Arkansas, Nebraska, and Missouri. He has provided marching clinics and adjudicated marching bands, concert bands, and jazz ensembles throughout the United States. He is a graduate of the Marching Roundtable Judges Academy.
