Brittany Mori (Kennesaw, GA) Brittany Mori currently serves as Director of Bands at Lost Mountain Middle School in Kennesaw, Georgia, within the Cobb County School District. The Lost Mountain Band is made up of 500 students with six band classes and is a proud feeder of the award-winning Harrison High School and Hillgrove High School Band Programs.
The Lost Mountain Middle School Bands under Ms. Mori’s direction have been invited to perform at the Music for All Affiliate Southeastern Regional Concert Festival, have earned consistent straight superior ratings at GMEA Large Group Performance Evaluations, and have students consistently earn spots in Atlanta regional honor ensembles, the District XII Middle School Honor Bands, and the Georgia All-State Band. In 2024, the Lost Mountain Bands were part of a consortium with composer Tyler S. Grant to commission the piece “A New Light.” In 2025 the Lost Mountain Bands were named a Music for All Advocacy in Action Award Recipient in the category of Community Involvement.
Ms. Mori is an active clinician and adjudicator throughout the United States. She serves on staff with the Harrison H.S. Marching Band and has performed as a clarinetist with the Cobb Wind Symphony, including their 2011 Midwest Clinic Performance. Ms. Mori has served on faculty of the Marching Band Division of the Bands of America Summer Camp since 2010 and is the Clarinet Instructor for the Bands of America Honor Band in the 2026 Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, California.
Ms. Mori holds degrees from James Madison University (B.M.) and The University of Georgia (M.M.Ed.). While at James Madison, she served as Drum Major of the 500-member Marching Royal Dukes, including their performance in the 2008 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. She also served as Principal Clarinetist of the JMU Wind Symphony and Symphony Orchestra. Brittany Mori’s family includes Koji Mori, Director of Orchestras at Harrison High School, and their two children, Kairi and Kyler.
