Mark Stone was the director of bands at Ayala High School in Chino Hills, CA for 28 years and has retired from education after 36 years. Mr. Stone received many awards and accolades during his tenure including CVUSD Instrumental Music Mentor Teacher, Ayala High School 1999 ‘Teacher of the Year’ and the 2006 Fidelity Investments ‘Inspire The Future’ Award. He is presently an adjudicator for Bands of America (BOA), Winter Guard International (WGI) and has judged throughout the country. He has also served on the Executive Board for Western Band Association (WBA) and San Bernardino County Music Educators Association (SBCMEA) and is a founding member of Southern California Percussion Alliance (SCPA). Mr. Stone was also an associate director for the BOA Honor Band for the 2017 Rose Parade.

While at Ayala the program enjoyed many successes including; eight-time SCPA World Class Gold Medalists, eleven-time WGI World Class Gold Medalists (concert and marching), nine-time Bands Of America Regional Champion, 2004 & 2013 BOA Grand National Championship Finalists and three-time WBA Grand Champion.

Mr. Stone lives in Hayden Lake, Idaho with his wife Sheli.
