Ly Wilder is visiting lecturer in choral conducting and jazz studies at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music.

As a contemporary vocal artist and educator, she exhibits an infectious energy and knowledge of style and technique that engages students and audiences alike in jazz and popular music.

Wilder has performed at Walt Disney World with legendary singers Joe Williams, Rosemary Clooney, Dianne Reeves, and Diane Schuur in addition to fronting trios, big bands, and orchestras, singing on studio demos, and touring as a background vocalist. A prolific arranger, her works have been commissioned, performed, and recorded by university and high school ensembles internationally.

Wilder is in demand as an adjudicator, clinician, and guest conductor. Her credits include all-state vocal jazz ensembles and show choirs in Arizona, Colorado, Missouri, Mississippi, Illinois, Indiana, Oklahoma, and Wisconsin, as well as teaching at Showchoir Camps of America and the Steve Zegree Vocal Jazz Camp. She is the vocal director of Bloomington Expressive Arts Training (BEAT), a K-12 community show choir program she cofounded with choreographer Brennan Wilder in 2012. She previously taught vocal jazz and women’s and mixed choirs at Purdue University and holds degrees from the University of Miami and Western Michigan University.

She and Brennan reside in Bloomington, Ind., with their daughter, Jamie.
