Caroline Hand is Associate Director of Bands and Assistant Professor of Music at Ball State University where she conducts the Symphony Band, directs the “Pride of Mid-America” Marching Band, oversees Ball State Athletic Bands, and teaches select courses in music education.

Dr. Hand earned the Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Conducting from the University of Minnesota. Before moving to the Twin Cities, she received a Master of Music in Band Conducting from Baylor University in Waco, Texas.  Prior to her time at Baylor, Dr. Hand taught secondary school band in Arkansas and Texas. She holds a Bachelor of Music Education from Oklahoma State University. Her teachers include Craig Kirchhoff, Kathy Saltzman Romey, Eric Wilson, and Joseph Missal.
