Bobby Olson is in his eleventh year teaching music and has taught choir at Round Lake High School (Round Lake, IL) since 2015. He began using SEL strategies with intentionality in the high school choral classroom over the last four years. He has contributed to articles, webinars, and a book on SEL in Music Education. Bobby lives in Third Lake, IL with his wife, Dana, their sons, Andy and a newborn, and their dog, Phinney.

While the social and emotional challenges our students face seem daunting at times, intentional SEL instruction provides a framework for growth. As teachers, we have to continue to learn, to adapt to what works for our students, and to do it with as much passion and courage as we can.”
